Phrase of the Day!

Chutando a Jaca = Kick the Jaca (A Brazilian fruit with no translation)

My husband always uses this expression when we are eating things that are bad for us because if we are going to be bad might as well be really bad!  Chutando a Jaca means that if you are going to do something you might as well go all out.

  1. Or, in a similar if not identical sense, you can say, Chutar o pau da barraca (something like, er, kick the stick of the tent). Chutar a jaca I don’t know if I’ve heard, I hear Meter o pé na jaca (same meaning, translates to stick your foot in the jaca).
